Harry Potter coins at Mint Coin Shop — what's in the collection

Right now, Mint Coin Shop stocks five Harry Potter releases from Agoro (New Zealand Mint), covering everything from a small gold coin at $139 to the full Trading Coin box set at $595.

Harry Potter Mint Trading Coins — $595

The most involved release in the range. Six sets, 51 coin designs total, all legal tender of Niue. Each sealed box contains two mystery coins — you find out which set when you open it.

Sets 1 through 5 are pure silver, featuring witches and wizards in detailed colour. Mintages drop with each tier: 250 per design at Set 1, down to 20 at Set 5. Every coin is individually numbered.

Set 6 sits on its own. Only 10 exist — Golden Snitch coins in 1/4oz pure gold. The product description notes the Snitches "are enchanted to only recognise the first human to ever touch them." The enchantment is debatable. The mintage of 10 is not.

The box includes a display case, themed outer packaging, and a guide to the full collection.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone / Sorcerer's Stone 1oz Silver Collectible Foils — $280 each

Two editions of the same book, both released as separate collectible foils — Philosopher's Stone for most markets, Sorcerer's Stone for the US. Each is 1oz of silver. Heavier and more substantial than most licensed coin releases.

Harry Potter The Golden Snitch 0.1g Gold Collectible Coin — $139

A 0.1g gold coin with the Golden Snitch, card-mounted. The lowest-cost gold Harry Potter piece in the range and an easy entry point if you want actual gold without spending much.

Harry Potter 25 Years of Magic 5g Foil Blind Box — $185

A blind box with 5g of precious metal foil inside, released to mark the franchise's 25th anniversary. Lower stakes than the Trading Coins box, but the same mystery-box format at a lower price.

Which one to buy

For serious collectors, the Trading Coins box has the most depth — tiered mintages, individual numbering, and a gold tier with only 10 coins worldwide. The foil covers are for fans who want something tied specifically to the books. The standalone Snitch coin makes sense if budget is the constraint.

All five are available now at Mint Coin Shop, an authorised Agoro stockist.
