This 2026 $1 coloured uncirculated coin embodies the whole nation's pride and passion for Team Australia and celebrates the country's history at the Winter Olympics, a remarkable story of perseverance, growth and groundbreaking achievements.

Australia first competed at the Winter Olympics in 1936, sending just one athlete to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. For decades, results were modest, as winter sports lacked the infrastructure and popularity of their summer counterparts. That changed dramatically in 2002, when Steven Bradbury won the Southern Hemisphere's first Winter Olympic gold medal in short track speed skating, in one of the most iconic moments in Olympic history. Since then, Australia has steadily grown into a respected winter sports nation. Alisa Camplin claimed aerial skiing gold just days after Bradbury. Torah Bright dazzled in snowboarding, and more recently, athletes have continued to make their mark on the world stage.

This coin captures the spirit of winter sport with a dynamic reverse design by E. Waterford. It features a freestyle skier in a mid-air pose surrounded by snowflakes and Team Australia graphics. The obverse features the effigy of King Charles III by designer Daniel Thorne.

Presented in a capsule within a presentation card, this strictly limited release has a maximum mintage of 25,000.
