Explore one of the giants of Australia’s steam heritage with this exciting 2025 50c Coloured Uncirculated Coin from the Royal Australian Mint’s Steam Giants – Australian Rail Heritage collection.
Q5 is an example of the first ‘Mountain’ type steam locomotives introduced to Australia. Built in 1922, Q5 and its classmates handled Tasmania’s heaviest goods trains. In the 1960s, the fledgling Tasmanian Transport Museum scrambled to save Q5 from being scrapped. It is now proudly displayed at their museum in Glenorchy.

Purchase limits
Popular releases can carry a limit per customer so more collectors get a fair go. A customer is one person, family, delivery address, email address, payment card or IP address, and the limit includes previous orders. Some limited releases need you to log in so we can count your earlier orders; others allow guest checkout.
Every order for a limited release is checked by hand. If the limit is exceeded, all orders involved may be cancelled and refunded less reasonable costs of up to 20%. See our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.
