A show special from the Beijing International Coin Exposition. The Perth Mint issues this gold-plated 1/2oz silver coin for BICE, the major coin fair in China, and it is available here from the same release date.

Natasha Muhl's reverse shows a mature goat, a young goat and a kid grazing beneath a plum blossom tree. The scene illustrates the Chinese saying Three Goats Bring Bliss, a wish for the end of winter, the return of spring and prosperous new beginnings, while the plum blossom stands for purity, resilience and hope. The coin is gold-plated, and the Chinese character for goat, 'GOAT 2027' and The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark are included.

In the legend of the Great Race, the goat travelled with the monkey and the rooster. When the three reached a wide, fast-flowing river, the goat calmly led the way across, reached the far bank first and took eighth place in the zodiac. People born in a Goat year (2027, 2015, 2003, 1991, 1979 and every 12 years before) are said to be gentle, creative and compassionate.

The obverse bears Dan Thorne's effigy of His Majesty King Charles III. Struck from 1/2oz of 99.99% pure silver and issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin is set in an illustrated display card that shows both sides.
