Australian Kangaroo 2026 1oz Gold Proof High Relief Coin

The Perth Mint's Australian Kangaroo gold coin series has been running since 1986, when it launched as the Australian Nugget, the first official Australian legal tender gold coin program. This 1oz high relief coin is issued to mark the 40th anniversary of that program.

Struck with an extra-deep blank to bring out fine detail, the reverse shows two kangaroos leaping across water, with ripples, splashes and a mountain landscape behind them. A privy mark with the number 40 references the anniversary of the Australian Nugget program. The inscription 'KANGAROO', The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark, and the coin's weight, purity and 2026 year-date complete the reverse. The obverse carries the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III.
