Australian Kangaroo 2026 1/4oz Gold Proof Coin

The Perth Mint's Australian Kangaroo gold coin series has been running since 1986, when it launched as the Australian Nugget, the first official Australian legal tender gold coin program. Forty years on, it remains one of the most recognised gold coin series in the world.

This 1/4oz gold proof coin marks the 40th anniversary of the program with a new reverse design by Neil Hollis. Two kangaroos are shown leaping across water, with ripples, splashes and a mountain range in the background. A privy mark featuring the number 40 is included as a nod to the anniversary. The inscription 'KANGAROO', The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark, and the coin's weight, purity and 2026 year-date complete the reverse. The obverse carries the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III.
