Above the shield rests the crest with a seven-pointed Commonwealth Star, supported by Australia’s most recognisable native animals — the kangaroo and the emu. The design also includes the inscriptions AUSTRALIAN, CITIZENSHIP, and the year-date, along with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

The obverse bears the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Dan Thorne, together with the coin’s monetary denomination.
