Your $2 Coins Deserve Better Than a Jar

Plenty of Australians have a jar of coloured $2 coins somewhere at home. They pulled them from their change, put them aside, and meant to do something about it.

The Renniks Premier Australia Two Dollar Coin Album is that something. We have it in stock at $59.95.

Why the $2 coin is so collectable

The $2 coin has been in our pockets since 1988. Over the past decade or so, it has become the coin Australians collect most from their change.

The reason is the commemorative designs. Coloured $2 coins have marked anniversaries, sporting events, wartime history and more. Many go into general circulation, so you can build a serious collection without spending more than face value on the coins themselves.

That’s what makes this an easy hobby to start. It’s also why the jar fills up so quickly.

What the album does

The Renniks Premier album is made for Australian $2 coins. Its custom pages hold each coin securely, so your collection is easy to view and protected from knocks and scratches.

Renniks is a familiar name to Australian collectors. Its coin catalogues and albums have been a fixture of the hobby for years. The Premier series is its higher-quality range.

I think a proper album changes how people collect. Once the coins sit in order, you can see which ones you have and which ones you’re still hunting for. A gap in a page is a strong motivator.

Who it suits

This album works well for:

• Collectors who have outgrown the jar and want their coins in order
• Parents starting a child on the hobby with coins from everyday change
• Anyone building a complete set of Australian $2 coins

It’s also a good gift for a collector who has everything else. Most people put off buying an album for themselves.

Handle your coins with care

Coins last longer when you handle them by the edges and keep them dry. Our guide on how to store and handle coinscovers the basics. If you’re new to the hobby, read our guide on how to start collecting Australian coins as well.
