The X-Men '97 blind box is here, and there's gold to be found!

The Marvel X-Men '97 Heroes Blind Box from Agoro by New Zealand Mint is the first Agoro blind box to feature multiple characters. Inside each box is one of six character foils struck in 5g of 999 pure silver, measuring a generous 70mm x 110mm. Every foil is individually numbered, carries a Certificate of Authenticity on the back, and is legal tender issued by Niue.

Most boxes hold a standard character foil, but 30% contain something a little rarer, 9% hold an alt-art or fully engraved version, and 1% hide the real prize: a fully engraved character foil in 5g of 9999 pure gold. Only 20 gold foils exist per character, anywhere in the world.

The total mintage is 12,000 boxes worldwide, which is modest for an officially licensed Marvel release. That is 24 possible foils across the six characters and four tiers. Some collectors will chase the full silver set. Others will buy one box for the character they grew up watching on Saturday mornings. And a lucky few will open a box and find gold.

X-Men '97 brought the classic animated series back to a generation that never stopped caring about these characters, and this release leans into that nostalgia without cutting corners on the metal.
