Beloved the world over, our signature coin series celebrates one of Australia's most emblematic native animals. The coin's high relief reverse portrays a kangaroo lying on the ground, a restful position that helps it conserve energy during the hottest part of the day. A bounding kangaroo and a grass tree appear in the background. As well as the inscription 'KANGAROO, the design includes the coin's weight, purity, 2025 year-date, and The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark.

The coin's high relief reverse and obverse are minted on concave surfaces to ensure the optimum flow of metal is achieved by the strike of the die.
