The Upside Down on a Coin: Perth Mint's Stranger Things Hawkins 2026 Release

Stranger Things first aired in July 2016. Ten years on, it still holds a strange grip on people. The show earned over 70 awards, including Emmys and a Screen Actors Guild Award, and its fanbase never really went quiet between seasons. That kind of longevity is rare.

The Perth Mint has turned that loyalty into something you can hold in your hand, and we have it here at www.mintcoinshop.com.au.

The Stranger Things Hawkins 2026 Gold Plated Collector's Coin is a $33 limited release, capped at just 5,000 pieces. It carries a TVD $1 monetary denomination and weighs 13.50g, with a diameter of 30.70mm and a thickness of 3.40mm. The reverse was designed by Sean Rogers; the obverse by Jody Clark.

What makes the design worth paying attention to is how it handles the two worlds at the centre of the series. The coin's coloured reverse shows the town of Hawkins as it appears above ground, with the Mind Flayer looming behind it. The Upside Down section is rendered in grayscale, a choice that works well on a small canvas. The contrast between colour and grey separates the worlds without needing a lot of detail to do it. The STRANGER THINGS logo, the HAWKINS inscription, and Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark are all included.

The coin is housed in a collector's card with a circular window showing both sides. It's a clean presentation format, practical for display without additional framing or cases.

This is a coin for people who watched the series and want something physical to mark that connection. It's also a considered piece of Perth Mint craft, not a rush job. The mintage limit of 5,000 is low enough to make it worth picking up early if you're interested.

It won't be around forever. Limited Perth Mint releases with popular licences tend to sell through well before most people expect.

You can order the Stranger Things Hawkins 2026 Gold Plated Collector's Coin directly from Mint Coin Shop at $33.00.
